Classes
When: January 7 and/or January 14, 2012, 1-4pm
Where: Private home near Mt. Airy
Cost: $30 per class.
What: Participants will make and bake something to take home. While this is baking, they will fix and eat a light lunch. You may sign up for one or both classes. If there is an interest, classes will continue on Saturdays.

Recipes from December 5 Adult Social Group Meeting
Chocolate Chip Cookies Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 Cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
Direction: Combine all dry ingredients in a small bowl and stire until well-blended. Cream butter in mixing bowl, add sugars and beat until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time and beat in vanilla. In large mixing bowl, add glour mixture to butter mixture and stire utnil well blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
Place parchment paper on baking pans and using a teaspoon, spoon cookie misture onto parchment paper, leaving at least one inch between each cookie. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges of each cookie start to turn brown. Remove from oven and set on rack to cool. When cookies are cooled, eat and enjoy.
Black Magic Cake
2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups AP flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 tsps baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk (soured)
1 cup strong black coffee (cooled)
1/2 cup veg. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions: Put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and beat for two minutes, scraping sides of the bowl once with spatula. Pour into 2 prepared, 8″ pans and bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Turn out on rack to cool.
